AlumierMD Personalised Peel FAQ
What happens in a peel and what are the benefits?
Our AlumierMD Personalised Peels encourage exfoliation by removing compromised skin cells, forcing the body to quickly replenish them with new cells, revealing refreshed, radiant, and resilient skin. Our peels are amazing for acne/breakout prone skin, ageing, pigmentation, rosacea and great in the lead up to a wedding or special event. During your treatment you will receive a through cleanse, a mask to prepare your skin and a personalised peel and booster, depending on your skin type and goals. You also receive a post procedure pack to take home and use post treatment worth £15.
Is there anything I need to do in preparation?
During your consultation, we will run through everything you would need to avoid in the few days prior to your peel. This includes stopping the use of retinol products/high levels of vitamin A and products with AHAs/BHAs for seven days prior to your peel. It is always recommended to prepare your skin with our homecare products for 2-4 weeks prior to your peel to maximise results.
Is there any downtime or restrictions after my facial?
After your peel you can expect a little redness for up to 12 hours. You will not be able to wear makeup for 24 hours after your facial, so we’d recommend booking your facial at a suitable time to accommodate this. You will not be able to have electrolysis, waxing, threading or any other form of hair removal for 7 days post treatment. You may also experience some peeling of the skin 3-5 days after your facial, this is completely normal but is something to consider if you have a busy schedule/important events in the week after your treatment.
How often do I need a peel, and do I need a course?
For best results, we would recommend a course of 6 to start with (£425 saving a huge £85). Depending on your concern, you would have a facial every 2-4 weeks to start with.
I have a special event I want my peel for, when is best to have my facial?
7-10 days prior to a wedding/special event is perfect.
